They are a brand that I would probably describe as ‘cute’. Clearly a range of e-cigarettes designed for girls, they are slim, pretty to look at, and offer a range of what looks to be great, fun flavors. Are they as good to smoke as they are to look at? Let’s take a closer look at the Vapor Couture review.
Offered by the same guys that create the V2 Cigs beauties, I was expecting something delicate yet powerful. With something as slim as the Vapor Couture e-cigarettes looked, I knew there would need to be some reduction in battery life. I feel that is something that you should be aware of before you go any further. If you want better battery life these days, you need to go bigger like a personal vaporizer, not smaller.
The good news is that Vapor Couture offers a number of starter kits to get things kick-started:
One battery, one USB charger, five cartridges plus a disposable. That’s all you get in this dinky little kit and I must be honest here, it’s quite expensive for what you get. Most other brands offer this sort of beginner kit for around $20-$30. Click here to compare the beginner kits that are offered by different brands.
The price has displeased me already.
Two batteries, a USB charger, ten cartridges plus a wall adapter. This is more like the kit you should go for when you first make the change from real cigarettes to their electronic counterparts. A minimum of two batteries required otherwise you won’t have enough juice to get you through your day without relying on something else nicotine-based… usually an actual cigarette sadly.
Everything you get with the above L’Essentiel kit plus a silver lanyard. Snazzy? Yes! Worth the price? Probably not…
‘Travel in style’… but it’ll cost ya! Probably more than your flight will too! Everything that you get with the L’Essentiel kit again but with a few more accessories. A car charger, a portable charging carry case, and that lanyard again.
I went for the L’Essentiel Kit in the end because it made the most sense, but I will admit I wasn’t overly impressed by the price of it all.
Tell me about the cartridges…
So, I’ll start with the good news. The flavors are impressive. There are only six varieties on offer but from the sounds of them, they’re a little something different from the norm. With Bombshell, Fresh Mint, Rodeo Drive, Passion Fruit, Strawberry Champagne, and Arctic Mint, I was super excited for the Passion Fruit and Strawberry Champagne ones. Don’t we all love a little something sweet?
One thing I didn’t like was the names – I had to do my research to find out ‘Bombshell’ was, for example-rich, a smooth tobacco blend. Why couldn’t they have just allied it ‘Tobacco’ like most other normal places?
You can get your hands on a 5 pack of cartridges for $12.95 which actually isn’t as badly priced as I thought they might be, but they don’t really live up the expectations I had hoped for them.
The flavors seemed ‘watered-down’, as though there wasn’t enough flavor added to the solution. The flavors also died really quickly. It was only an hour or so after I had started to use it that the vapor just started to taste like air. I wasn’t that impressed by them. You can pop the top of the cartridge to refill them yourselves and once refilled with your own liquid, they do tend to last for a bit longer, but I”m pretty sure this voids your warranty… It’s a no-win situation really.
I couldn’t find any information on the website saying how long these cartridges should last you but they don’t last for very long. They are only small though – you must remember that.
Throat hit and vapor… Well, there’s not a lot of that either. There’s enough nicotine in there to stop you panicking about your next hit, but I wouldn’t exactly say it was the most satisfying e-cigarette experience I’ve ever had.
Tell me about the battery…
As you have probably imagined, these slimline batteries won’t and don’t last for long at all. It’s only a 190mah battery and without the cartridge, it’s about 8.5cm long. I expected it to last for about 3/4 hours but the reality was very different. I think the longest I made this e-cigarette last was about two hours…
It takes about an hour to charge, perhaps a bit longer in the little charging case that you get with the bigger starter kits and can buy separately, and I would highly recommend getting this if you’re going to be using this kit. The batteries don’t last long enough to leave the house without some sort of charging facility.
What makes Vapor Couture the best e-cigarettes?
In short, there aren’t a lot of positives I have for this kit for long-term use, but for short-term use such as smart functions for women, they are perfect!
Yes, it’s cute and it looks pretty but it doesn’t really work that well for a smoker that regularly gets through a packet of 20 a day… which is most of us, right?
I would say that the best person to get the most use out of the Vapor Couture stuff offered by V2 Cigs are those that only light-smoke – those that smoke socializing while they are out and about having a few drinks with friends on a Friday night. You might even find that you’ll start to use it more often when you go out to nice functions and special occasions because it looks better than the regular two-piece designs, plus aren’t as bulky as the bigger atomizer/tank styles. That’s the only time I tend to use mine now… when I got out to social events.
If you’re only going to be using this e-cig kit occasionally for nice events, it’s a must-have! It lasts a couple of hours, looks good, is slim enough to fit into even the smallest of clutch bags, and has some relatively nice flavors. If you’re planning on using it for any longer than that, however, or more regularly, you’re out of luck.
For a ‘special occasion’ e-cigarette, 4 stars out of 5, for all of the reasons listed above and more.
